In 3500BC when Babylon was the cradle of civilisation the two guiding powers were the Sun and the Moon, represented by the lion and the unicorn respectively. The lion ruled through strength and total domination and constantly chased the unicorn, who symbolised harmony and co-operation. The lion rarely caught his prey, but when he did, it was the sun and not the moon which became obscured. These unicorn figures are wonderfully detailed and lifelike come from the land of the unicorns by Tudor mint.
